Most people who see Facebook Marketplace, actually think it is a standalone App, but on this guide, we will learn more about this Marketplace. Facebook Marketplace is an inbuilt digital shop on Facebook itself where Facebook users can discover, buy and sell locally. The marketplace is a great feature for selling and shopping from home. On the marketplace feature, you can find great deals of items to buy and you can also make your own listing to get buyers or customers. This feature is free to use and very simple to understand.

You do not need to download any other app or set up a new account to use this marketplace on Facebook. Just with your normal Facebook app, you can find a lot of items such as clothes, cars, TVs, clothing, and more to purchase, whether both new and old. Although the Facebook marketplace is not yet made global, the Facebook team is working on making it global. This buy and sell feature is only available to 85 countries for now that I will mention later on this guide.

Where is Facebook Marketplace?

The marketplace is available on the Facebook site and compatible on any device type including the IOS and Android device. It has a version for desktops and laptops too. You can find the marketplace icon at the top of your Facebook homepage on your Android device and at the bottom of your IOS device. If you making use of a web browser, you can find it on the left-hand side of your Facebook homepage.

Who is the Marketplace Available to?

Like I said earlier, the marketplace is available in few countries because it’s not yet made worldwide. The marketplace on Facebook is available to most individuals from the age of 18 and older in the following locations:

There are other locations not mentioned here. But, I will present to you the steps on how to find the marketplace in your location. However, if you do not find it, then the marketplace is not yet available in your location.

How Do I Access Facebook Marketplace?

The Facebook Marketplace is free to use but you would need to have a Facebook profile to access and use the app for discovering, buying and selling. New Facebook accounts are not permitted to use the marketplace to avoid fraudulent activities. If you already have an account you can log in to the profile via the website or mobile app. Follow below to log in;

  • Launch the Facebook mobile app if you have it or access the device browser and input www.facebook.com
  • On the log in section, input your mobile phone number or email address and password.
  • Hit on Log in t proceed.

The profile will be logged in if the details are right.

Now, you have logged in, on your Android device, click on the “Shop” icon at the top of your homepage. For IOS device users, you have to scroll to the bottom of your Facebook homepage to find the marketplace icon. And computer users can click on “Marketplace” on the left side of their news feed. From here, you have to select what you want to do; Buy or Sell. You will be given directions in the marketplace to help you buy, sell or do both.
